It is already known that actors Ashok Selvan, Vasanth Ravi and Aishwarya Lekshmi will be headlining a film titled Pon Ondru Kanden. While a release date for the film has not yet been announced, a promo for the film was released through the X handle of Colors Tamil. Calling out the promo, Vasanth Ravi, who was last seen in Jailer, said that he is shocked that none of the cast and team members of the film were informed about the announcement of world satellite premiere of the film.
Vasanth Ravi expresses shock about his film
Colors TV Tamil released a promo for the upcoming Tamil film Pon Ondru Kanden, featuring Ashok Selvan, Vasanth Ravi and Aishwarya Lekshmi. The light-hearted promo ended on the note that the world satellite premiere of the film will be on Colors TV Tamil soon.
Calling out the announcement, Vasanth Ravi said that neither he nor the cast and crew members of Pon Ondru Kanden were informed of the decision. Calling it shocking and questioning if it is happening in real life, Vasanth Ravi expressed disappointment with Jio Studios. He further wrote a long post saying, "We have worked really hard for this film. The whole team of #PonOndruKanden is totally unaware and not being informed about this at all !! Thank you @jiostudios for being so kind, your respect to the team of #PonOndruKanden has only increased multiple times for keeping us posted about it only through @X !”
Vasanth Ravi claimed that it was "extremely painful and disheartening" to see the promo of the film without any communication being made to Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Priya V Kamakshi or Yuvan Shankar Raja. Priya V Kamakshi has helmed the film.
The actor also said that though a creator or artist does not have a say in the commercial decisions once they are given to the producer, he requested that at least they be informed of them out of respect.
