Ved OTT release date: When and where to watch Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh's romantic drama online

Fans couldn't contain their excitement for 2022, knowing that Ved is finally getting its OTT release after a successful theatrical run. The film which was released in December 2022 marked the directorial debut of Riteish Deshmukh and starred as the leading actor opposite Genelia Deshmukh, who also produced the film. Now, Ved is set for its OTT release, on Disney+ Hotstar, this Friday, that is April 28, 2023.

Ved is the Hindi remake of the hit Telugu film Majili, which was released in 2019. The film became the highest-grossing Marathi film last year and went on to become the third-highest-grossing Marathi film of all time.

In the film, Satya lives in a railway colony and aspires to play cricket for the railway team and for India at the international level. He develops intense feelings for Nisha very quickly. Satya's life, however, takes a dramatic turn when a local politician named Bhaskar wreaks havoc on both his personal and professional endeavours. After waiting for his love for 12 years, Satya is now a drunk, sad man. His wife, Shravani, has been head over heels for him ever since they were kids. Can you guess whose love is crazier: Satya's or Shravani's?

While talking about being a part of Ved, Genelia told The Quint that if people's initial assumption is that she is Riteish's wife, then there are no opportunities because of that. The actor gives Riteish all the credit since he was certain of how he wanted her character to be once Ved was launched, and people seem to have enjoyed her character. Around 20 years ago, Riteish and she began their careers in the Hindi film industry, and they love collaborating. They respect one another and avoid getting in each other's faces.

On making his directorial debut in Marathi, Riteish revealed to Cinema Express that because an actor is prone to being typecast, he is pleased he avoided choosing a comedy for his first attempt at directing. As a filmmaker, his goal was to change that.

Ved will be available to stream in Marathi and Hindi.
