Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat: Akshay Kumar to star as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Mahesh Manjrekar's film

Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat is the upcoming Marathi language period drama film helmed by the director Maestro Mahesh Manjrekar. The filmmaker is set to collaborate with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who will portray Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his Marathi debut. 

The forthcoming flick is a tale of Seven valiant warriors who had the sole aim of bringing Shivaji Maharaj’s dream of Swarajya to reality. Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat to showcase the success story of the Hindavi Swarajya and the story of a glorious and selfless sacrifice like no other.

The cast and crew of the film including Manjrekar, Kumar, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde and MNS Chief Shri Raj Thakeray recently attend the celebration of the first mahurat shot event of the film in Mumbai.

Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat is set to be out in cinemas during Diwali 2013 and going to clash with Tiger 3. Interestingly, Salman Khan was also spotted at the launch.

Talking about his first Marathi film and his character, Kumar shared in a recent statement that it's a dream come true for him and portraying the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the big screen is a very huge responsibility. The Bollywood star also calls it a dream come true role for him.

Speaking about the movie, director Manjrekar mentioned in a statement that Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat is his dream project and he has been working on this film for seven years because it is a subject that needed that much attention and research. 

He also shared that it's going to be the biggest and grandest Marathi film

The epic drama flick also features Jay Dudhane, Utkarsha Shinde, Vishal Nikam, Virat Madke, Hardik Joshi, Satya, Akshay, Nawab Khan, and Praveen Tarde in major roles.
