Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, the 2025 Tamil film starring actor Vikram in the lead role, released in theatres on Thursday (March 27) after much trouble and legal dispute. The film's morning and matinee shows were cancelled owing to financial troubles, and began much later, from 5pm. Despite this, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 has collected Rs 3.25 crore at the box office.
Actor Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 had much expectations on its release. However, on the day of its release, the film disappointed fans and moviegoers when the first and matinee shows were cancelled. This was because of the legal case proceedings at the court on Thursday, and once they were settled, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 shows began from 5pm.
This has severely impacted the box office collection of the film on the first day. As per Sacnilk report, the film’s first-day collection stands at Rs 3.25 crore. The film is expected to pick up collections over the weekend, given Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 is the only major Tamil release this week.
Besides Vikram, the film also stars Suran Venjaramoodu in his Tamil debut, SJ Suryah, Dushara Vijayan and others. Theni Eswar has cranked the camera, while the music is by GV Prakash Kumar. Written and directed by SU Arun Kumar, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 is the second part, with the prequel set to release later. It is produced by Riya Shibu under the HR Pictures production banner.
The release of Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 was stayed by the Delhi court after the financier had lodged a case against the makers. While the financial problems resulted in cancellations of morning and matinee shows along with US premieres, the film began running from 5PM. Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 marks Vikram and Arun Kumar’s first collaboration.
