With a newfound craze and image, Balakrishna released his new film 'Veera Simha Reddy' yesterday to solid occupancy at the Tollywood box office. The occupancy was over 95% in Telugu states and the overseas occupancy was also strong right from the premiere shows. The film opened to some mixed reviews but as the buzz for the film is so strong, the collections have a different story to tell altogether.
The action drama directed by Gopichand Malineni has made 50 crores gross on day one worldwide. This is no mean feat as the film has become Balakrishna's biggest opener so far in his career. In Telangana itself, the film has grossed close to ten crores on day one. The day two collections are also super strong and the trade is expecting big numbers today.
In the US, the film has crossed the $800K mark already and will cross the one million mark this Saturday. In AP, the collections are super strong in the B and C centers and the film is set to make big money during its first weekend. But as Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya has also been released to good word of mouth, Veera Simha Reddy will find it a bit tough from today onwards.
Mythri Movie Makers are the production house behind this film which has Shruthi Haasan as the heroine. Balayya's newfound image with the talk show Unstoppable has ensured such solid openings for this film. We need to see how much the film makes once the lucrative festival season ends. For now, it is rocking the box office.
