Veera Simha Reddy: Here’s when Balakrishna, Shruti Haasan’s action entertainer will hit theatres

While it’s official that Vaarasudu, Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya will be the most prominent Telugu releases for Sankranti 2023, there has been considerable suspense around the film’s release dates. The makers of Veera Simha Reddy decided to end the wait of Balakrishna’s fans today. The action entertainer, written and directed by Gopichandh Malineni, will hit screens across the globe on January 12, 2023, the same day as Vaarasudu.

Veera Simha Reddy’s release date announcement poster has a fiery Balakrishna, in a salt-n-pepper avatar, pointing a finger at the baddies, as if he’s giving them a warning. Kannada star Duniya Vijay is making his Telugu debut with the film that has Shruti Haasan pairing alongside Balakrishna for the first time in her career. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Naveen Chandra essay other important roles with Chandrika Ravi in a special song appearance.

Sankranthi has always been biggest festival for people across the Telugu states and watching films is an integral part of the celebration for many. There have been many instances where 3-4 films released for the festival and raked in profits. Hence, there’s a good chance that Veera Simha Reddy, Waltair Reddy and Vaarasudu will get enough theatres and the scope to flourish. Though Akhil’s Agent is tentatively scheduled for a Sankranti release, the makers are yet to commence promotions.

Meanwhile, the first single of Veera Simha Reddy, Jai Balayya, was launched recently and clocked impressive numbers on Youtube. S Thaman scores the music for the film which has cinematography by Rishi Punjabi and is edited by Navin Nooli.Sai Madhav Burra pens the dialogues and AS Prakash is the production designer. Ram-Lakshman and Venkat are the stunt directors.
