Venkatesh is gearing up for the release of his soon-to-be out film Narappa. Directed by Srikanth Addala, the Telugu star has stepped into the shoes of Dhanush in the remake of Asuran. The film is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from July 20, 2021, and also stars Priyamani as the female lead. Now ahead of the release of Narappa, Venkatesh spoke at length about the project and also heaped praises on Dhanush who won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance.

During an interaction with Great Andhra, the Telugu star spoke about his first OTT release and fans' reaction to it. Venkatesh stated, "I know that few fans are not happy with it. I wholeheartedly apologize to them. My well-wishers and fans have always understood my style of functioning in the industry right from the beginning."

On playing the role, the star also mentioned that he wore the same attire for nearly 50 days of the shoot and was in the same get-up throughout.

Venkatesh further said, "I’ve done many action films, but I’ve exhausted doing the action in this film."

When asked about starring in the remake of Asuran, the Telugu star shared that when he watches movies like these he makes sure to grab the opportunity to do them. Venkatesh also said that starring in a remake is indeed challenging and not an ordinary thing to attempt.

The film also stars Karthik Rathnam as Venkatesh's onscreen son.

For uninitiated, Asuran and Narappa, the films are based on the novel titled Vekkai by Poomani. The Venkatesh starrer kickstarted the shoot in January 2020.

This is the actor's second outing with director Srikanth after Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.

Ahead of Narappa release, Venkatesh even completed the shoot of Drushyam 2 which will be his next OTT release.
