Social media and the industry went berserk with extreme reactions and memes when Varisu director Vamshi Paidipally, in response to the criticism around his film, had said the words ‘It’s not a joke brother’ in an interview. Despite mixed responses from critics, the Sankranthi release, which was also dubbed in Telugu and Hindi, went onto be actor Vijay’s career-best grosser.

While the director hasn’t officially announced his next project, he is set to make an appearance on a television talk show Ala Modalaindi along with his wife Malini. For the uninitiated, Ala Modalindi is a show produced by Dhamaka, Karthikeya 2 makers People Media Factory for well-known television channel ETV, hosted by popular comedian Vennela Kishore.

The first episode of Ala Modalindi featured Nikhil Siddhartha and his wife Pallavi Varma. Vennela Kishore’s debut as a show host was well-appreciated by one and all. Earlier today, the promo of the second episode bringing together Vamshi Paidipally and Malini was out today and there’s every reason for you to be curious about it. The glimpses promises a cheeky, entertaining episode.

Vamshi surprisingly forgets his wife’s name in the initial portions and recollects he told Malini ‘I’ll be happy if you are in my life.’ The latter apparently wanted him to sing a song when they met. While talking about the alliance, Dil Raju is believed to have asked Vamshi ‘why would you need a Bangalore girl?’ However, the show’s most interesting segment is the filmmaker’s reaction to his own ‘It’s not a joke brother’ comment.

When Vamshi says he only wrote ‘I love you’ in a letter to his wife, Vennela Kishore responds, “Is that all? Didn’t you attach it with the lines - ‘It’s not a joke brother!’” Suprisingly, the Varisu director takes it sportively and has a hearty laugh. His wife Malini adds that Vamshi gets hurt very easily. The episode will be out on ETV and ETV Win on April 4.
