We are finally on the day when the world will witness Venom: The Last Dance, aka Venom 3, on the big screen, and there is so much excitement to see what the film holds for the future of Sony's Spider-Man Universe and whether it connects to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Spider-Man 4 in a bigger way. The movie has generated a lot of curiosity for a long time, and there is massive buzz around it. As it now releases in theaters and we have already seen it, we know what’s in store for you. So as the final chapter of the Venom trilogy comes to an end, here we are, explaining what happens at the end of the film.

Venom: The Last Dance Ending Explained

The film follows Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy, and Venom, who are pulled back into their timeline and realize that the government has declared them fugitives. A hunt for them begins, and Eddie heads toward New York from Mexico, where they ended up at the conclusion of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. But life is not so easy, as Knull is trying to break free on Klyntar, seeking the Codex—the key inside Venom that can set Knull free. He sends Xenophages (Symbiote hunters) to track down Venom and retrieve the Codex. In the midst of this, Special Forces Officer Rex wants to kill Venom to prevent Knull from destroying the universe.

In the climax of Venom: The Last Dance, we see Venom surrounded by Xenophages, with no apparent escape. Venom decides to surrender and bid his final goodbye to Eddie, who is unaware of what’s about to happen. Venom allows the Xenophages to capture him and begins attaching himself to them, growing larger. It’s at this point we realize he intends to sacrifice himself to eliminate the hunters. But what about Eddie? Venom makes sure to detach himself from his host, throwing Eddie to safety.

Venom signals Rex to spray the deadly substance they’re using to destroy Area 51, and Rex complies, opening the valve. However, it seems more is needed to eliminate the Xenophages. So, Rex activates a grenade, sacrificing himself to save Eddie and the rest. In the end, Venom, Rex, and the Xenophages perish, while Eddie is taken to the hospital. The conclusion confirms that Eddie lives but is now without Venom. However, Dr. Payne possesses a Symbiote, hinting that the story might continue. The Venom franchise now has a lot of new directions to explore, but are the creators ready?

Is Venom 4 Possible?

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Kelly Marcel discussed the possibility of Venom 4. She confirms that the contract has ended and that they were hired for three films, which have now been completed. However, she hopes that the groundwork has been laid for the future with other characters, their Symbiotes, and the remaining villains in the universe. "Yes, it is the end of a contract. We were asked to do three, we’ve delivered three, and who knows what the future holds," the filmmaker said.

"I hope that we’ve laid groundwork for them in this third movie with other characters, other Symbiotes, and bad guys that they can run with, should they choose. But this is the last one for Venom and Eddie," Marcel noted. "We have definitely given it forethought, so we know what those stories could be, should they want them."
