Venu Udugula says that the story of Raju Weds Rambai is based on a tragic true incident that happened between the Warangal and Khammam districts. The romantic drama is based on honor killings, and how a couple faces the atrocities of their parents is showcased in a deeply moving manner, as per reports.
When asked, director Venu Udugula says that Raju Weds Rambai is not an ordinary love story based on honor killings, but that the climax of the film will leave shivers in everyone who watches it.
“Though the film is based on a real incident, such atrocities have never been showcased in any film before. That is also one of the main reasons why the film will be talked about once it hits the screens. The climax will leave shivers down your spine,” says Venu.
Raju Weds Rambai has made headlines as the hero is seen beating up the heroine for not loving him. Such scenes have drawn a lot of trolling on social media. But Venu says that people have jumped to conclusions and that what the film is truly about will only be known when they watch it on the big screen.
