Veteran actor Anupam Shyam breathed his last on Sunday at the age of 63. The actor worked in several films and TV series became a household name with his role as Thakur Sajjan Singh in Mann Kee Aawaaz Pratigya 1 & 2. Anupam was not keeping well for a few months and was on dialysis since 2020. He died due to multiple organ failures.
As per reports in ANI, Yashpal Sharma, co-star of Anupam said, "I got to know that he's no more. So we rushed here and found he was still breathing. The doctor later declared him dead."
Sharma further said that Anupam was hospitalised for four days. The actor had high blood sugar and used to take injections during the shooting of his last film.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit took to his Twitter page and mourned the death of Shyam. He expressed his sadness on the passing away of 'one of the finest actors and a great human being Anupam Shyam due to multiple organ failure'. Pandit paid his heartfelt condolences to Anupam's family and said it's a great loss to the film and TV industry.
Mann Kee Aawaaz Pratigya 2 producer Rajan Shahi also gave a statement to Indian Express. He said, "May his family get all the strength to sail through these difficult times."
Sharing an anecdote Shahi added that Anupam was extremely happy to work again and play his favourite character, Sajjan Singh.
He remembered the veteran actor as lively and full of enthusiasm. Rajan said that Anupam will be remembered for his remarkable performances.
Anupam's popular movie outings include Slumdog Millionaire, Bandit Queen, Dil Se, Lagaan, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and many others.
