Veteran actress Basanti Chatterjee hospitalised

Veteran actress Basanti Chatterjee fell ill while shooting last week. She was admitted to a hospital. Her family says that veteran actress Basanti Chatterjee is in a coma.

Basanti Chatterjee has been battling with stomach cancer for a long time. Recently a pacemaker was implanted in her heart. She was admitted to a private hospital in Alipore. The doctors said that both of her kidneys were not working. Her help told Anandabazar Online, “She got ill three after coming back. Hence she could not go shooting. In fact, she could not recognize anyone. Basanti, 87, has been admitted since March 6. Reports say that her condition is critical. In 2021, she had Covid and was admitted for a long time.”

People saw Basanti in the serial Geeta LLB which streams on Disney+ Hotstar. Bhaswar Chatterjee is also in the serial. Basanti plays his mother. Bhaswar recently shared a reel on social media where he was seen with Basanti. He captioned it, “Veteran actress Basanti Chatterjee’s debut reel at the age of 86. A darling, a wonderful human being, she plays my mom in @Starjalsha’ Geeta LLB”

Basanti started her career in the seventies. She worked in many films and serials. She worked in films like Manjari Opera, Thagini, Alo, etc.
