Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are going to join hands for a social comedy, set to go on floors this year. Vicky Kaushal, who was last seen in Shoojit Sircar's Sardar Udham, is reportedly in talks to board the cast.
According to a Pinkvilla report, Kaushal will be seen in "an important role" in the untitled film. A source told the outlet that Hirani has cast Jimmy Shergill in the Munnabhai franchise, Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput in PK, and Kaushal in Sanju before. The filmmaker will follow the same pattern of having a known place play an important supporting role in this new project as well.
Koimoi writes that there while there were other actors also in line to star, Kaushal was the frontrunner.
The source added that Hirani and Kaushal bonded on the sets of Sanju which is why the filmmaker wants to make the actor a part of this film.
Besides Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu and Boman Irani are also reportedly part of the cast. In a chat with India Today, Pannu had hinted at the possibility of sharing the screen space with Khan in Hirani's directorial.
Pinkvilla mentions that the shooting schedule of the film will span over 8-9 months in Budapest and London.
Kaushal's other upcoming projects include Meghna Gulzar's biographical drama Sam Bahadur, Aditya Dhar’s The Immortals of Ashwatthama and Shashank Khaitan's Govinda Naam Mera and Laxman Utekar's Luka Chuppi 2.
