Vicky Kaushal featured in filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The actor had a cameo appearance in the film. However, the actor left people impressed with his performance as Sukhi in the movie. In an interview, Vicky recently revealed how he came on board for that character in Hirani's film. The actor mentioned that the filmmaker initially did not offer Dunki to him but he eventually became a part of the movie.
In conversation with The Week magazine, Vicky Kaushal revealed his father Sham Kaushal was working as an action director on Dunki. And since Sukhi had a fire sequence in the film, he asked the filmmaker who was playing the part. "So Hirani (sir) said he wanted somebody like Vicky but did not offer it to me because he thought it was a small role," revealed Kaushal.
Later, when the actor's dad informed him about his conversation with the filmmaker Hirani, Vicky called the director. The actor told the maker that if he wanted somebody like him for Dunki, then why he did not offer the movie to him?
This was followed by Vicky landing up at the director's office and saying yes to Dunki without even listening to the film's script. And the first time he saw the full movie was during the screening.
Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the star cast of Dunki included Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, and Boman Irani among others. The storyline of the film revolves around a former soldier helping three friends to enter the UK without permission after the struggle to clear the immigration process.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vicky Kaushal has two big films lined up in the pipeline. The actor will be seen in Bad Newz with Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk. Apart from this movie, Vicky has Chhaava with Rashmika Mandanna set for release. It is a film based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
