Ajith Kumar’s action thriller Vidaamuyarchi has been released in theatres, much to the delight of Thala fans who have been eagerly awaiting the film’s arrival on the big screen. Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, the Tamil film also stars Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra. Trisha-Ajith collaboration is another highlight of the much-anticipated film which marks Ajith Kumar’s return to the big screen after nearly two years. Vidaamuyarchi was released in theatres on February 6, 2025, and Thala fans queued up early to watch the thriller film and have been posting their reactions online. Going by the fans’ reactions on X (formerly Twitter), Ajith and Magizh Thirumeni have been able to deliver a ‘fantastic, no-frills action film’.

Some fans said that they highly recommend this action film, which, according to them, is 'A Tamil film in Hollywood standard'. Yet another fan said that Vidaamuyarchi ‘has set a new benchmark for Tamil cinema’.

Though the fans are going ga-ga over the film, some netizens pointed out that it is ‘not a mass masala movie’ with a straightforward narration.

For the unversed, Vidaamuyarchi's plot revolves around Arjun (Ajith Kumar) who goes to great lengths to rescue his wife Kayal (Trisha) after she is captured by a notorious gang. Even before the film’s release, there were rumors about the film being an adaptation of the Hollywood film Breakdown. One netizen pointed this out, and said ‘MagizhThirumeni delivered a Banger in terms of making’.

Needless to say, fans are raving about Ajith Kumar’s stylish performance on the screen. But director Magizh Thirumeni is also lauded for the making.

All in all, it seems that the Ajith Kumar-starrer is yet another film that would satisfy the Thala fans who have been waiting to see their favorite star in action for nearly two years after the 2023 Thunivu.
