Vidaarth and Vani Bhojan’s Anjaamai gets release date in June

Anjaamai, the upcoming Tamil film starring actors Vidaarth and Vani Bhojan in the lead roles, is set to release in theatres on June 7, the makers announced on social media recently. The film is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and also stars actor Rahman in a prominent role.

Anjaamai gets release date

We had earlier reported that actors Vidaarth and Vani Bhojan would be joining hands for a film titled Anjaamai. The makers have now announced that the film will hit theatres on June 7. Anjaamai will be competing at the box office along with Sathyaraj and Vasanth Ravi's Weapon and Mohan's Haraa, both releasing on June 7.

The upcoming film, touted as a social drama, is written and directed by filmmaker SP Subburaman and backed by Dr M Thirunavukarasu MD. Apart from Vidaarth and Vani Bhojan, the film also stars actors Rahman, Krithik Mohan, and Rekha Sivan in prominent roles. Rahman was recently seen in a prominent role in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan duology.

The trailer for Anjaamai was released by the makers recently. It touches upon the growing issue of NEET and how it prevents many aspiring students from pursuing their passion. The trailer explores how the education system has become a commodity, as we are shown headlines of NEET exams posing hindrance for students.

The technical crew of the upcoming film consists of Raghav Prasad scoring the music, with Arivumathi, Karthik Netha, Arun Bharathi and the director penning the lyrics. The background score was worked on by Kala Charan and Karthick has shot Anjaamai. Ramsudharshan and GC Anandhan are the editor and art director, respectively.

Meanwhile, Vidaarth was last seen in Devil. The horror thriller film was released earlier this year and is available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium. On the other hand, Vani Bhojan was seen in the ZEE5 political drama series Sengalam alongside Kalaiyarasan.
