Video: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt kickstart Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani shoot

Karan Johar has kickstarted the first schedule of his upcoming directorial titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film went on floors and a BTS video featuring the lead actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt have been shared by the team. In the video, Karan and costume designer Manish Malhotra are seen getting all prepped up with the sets and also the costumes of the actors. 

The video also features Alia wearing sarees and Ranveer nailing the casual-cool look. They are also seen rehearsing for the dance sequences. Although the supporting actors namely Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi are not seen in the video their presence can be seen with their name cards on the table for the reading session.

While sharing the video, Karan captioned it as "The day is finally here & I have so many feelings going on in my head but what emerges at the top is - gratitude! As we begin our kahani ka first schedule, seeking all your pyaar & aashirvaad! It’s time to roll!"

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani marks the second outing of Ranveer and Alia after featuring together in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy. 

Earlier during an interaction with The Times of India, Dharmendra had praised Ranveer and Alia. The veteran actor had said, "Ranveer looks so natural in all his films. Bada hi pyaara ladka hai (He is such an adorable boy). Whenever we bump into each other at a function, woh aake mere paas baith jaata hai (he sits beside me). Likewise, Alia is also brilliant at her work."

The film is produced by Karan's home banner Dharma Productions and penned by Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is set to release on the big screens in 2022.
