Vidhu Vinod Chopra is all set for his next. The filmmaker and producer who gave fans some of the most unforgettable movies, including Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, Mission Kashmir, the Munnabhai trilogy, 3 Idiots, and PK is now coming up with a movie titled 12th Fail. The movie will be directed by Vidhu Vindo Chopra and will be based on the best-selling book of the same name by Anurag Pathak.

It is stated that there is a student who dreams of becoming an IAS or IPS officer in every street, village, and town in India. The new movie by Vidhu Vinod Chopra is about these students. The true story of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi served as the basis for the movie. However, 12th Fail isn't so much a biography as it is a portrayal of the power of one, showing how one honest person can bring about enormous change.

The first movie to be filmed in Mukherjee Nagar, New Delhi—the neighbourhood where generations of bureaucrats were born—will be 12th Fail.

The movie's lead actor will be Vikrant Massey, who has been in movies such as Love Hostel, Haseen Dillruba, and Forensic. Talking about it, he said, “It’s the tragedy of our times that honesty and sincerity are a rarity. This film is a dedication to all the students who dream, to all the honest officers who are the backbone of our country and constitution. Working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a dream-come-true and a huge challenge since he’s such a thorough director."

The first schedule of Chopra's movie, "12th Fail," was completed in Chambal, Agra, and the second schedule is currently being shot in Delhi. The movie's release date has been set for summer 2023.
