We know that Ajith's next is with Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal director Vignesh Shivan and that the film is being tentatively referred to as AK 62. AK62, which is said to be an action entertainer, will have music by Anirudh Ravichander. The shoot for the film is likely to begin by the end of the year.

The director has now revealed in an interview to an online portal that he immensely liked the actor's performance in SJ Suryah's Vaali (1999) and Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha. He added that he wanted to something on similar lines in AK62 as well. Vaali is a psychological romantic thriller in which Ajith played a dual role as identical twin brothers in which one of them was deaf and mute. His performance was well appreciated in the film, especially the way he switched between one character to another. Mankatha, on the other hand, is an action thriller written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. The plot revoles around a money heist.

Vignesh Shivan, who is a self-confessed fan of Ajith, took to his social media handle today to wish the actor a happy birthday. Calling him an epitome of greatness and icon of confidence, Vignesh Shivan wished the actor that he live forever. He wrote on his social media handle, "Happy birthday to U #AjithSir #Ak 馃Э Epitome of humblenes馃槆inspiring human being 鉂わ笍icon for self confidence & how to reach the top with sheer hard work & dedication ! Effortlessly charming ,enigmatic & compassionate about fellow human beings may you live forever sir! We Love U (sic)."

In the meantime, Vignesh Shivan is basking in the success of his recent release Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal starring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Meanwhile, Ajith's last release was Valimai, which was directed by H Vinoth.
