A little more than a month ago, Kannada actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty had announced a new venture that his banner would produce. To be the directorial debut of Chandrajith Beliappa, who has been associated with Paramvah for a while and directed one segment of the anthology Katha Sangama, the then untitled film was revealed to have Vihan and Ankita Amar in the lead. The film has a title now. “In the dew of their love, this story finds its morning 🌸Presenting Paramvah's next, the beautiful, ‘Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali’,” read the official post. This is yet another film title that’s come from a popular Kannada song. Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali was a song from the 1994 Kannada movie Rashmi, featuring Shruthi.
The title announcement teaser, meanwhile, suggested that the film is a romance that explores what love is without separation and longing. The long accompanying post about the film reads, “What defines love? Memories that you can fondly look at? Tomorrow's dream of togetherness? or the longing after separation? Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is a poetic tale of romance that intends to celebrate unconditional love. An attempt to capture the essence of yesterday's romance, the relevance of today's and the perpetual nature of it that can stand the test of the future! We aspire to make you sing, smile, dance and savor the sweet melancholy. A story that spans a decade encapsulating the days of college, career aspirations and adulthood! Urban cityscape, the greens and more importantly the dreamy atmospherics. There's scent of summer, warmth of winter and the melody of monsoon!”
Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali will have music by Gagan Baderiya, while Srivathsan Selvarajan will handle cinematography. The title was announced on the occasion of leading man Vihan’s birthday. In an earlier conversation with us about bagging the film, Vihan had said, “This is not a character that I have to act, but rather, need to live. It’s a beautiful story, details of which will be revealed in the days to come, along with the title, etc. At the moment, all that I can say is that I have been given a solid role, as far as performance goes. I am overwhelmed to have been picked by Rakshit for his next production venture and am immensely thankful to the team for recognizing talent.”
