This is turning out to be a busy season for Vijay Antony. While his crime thriller Hatya (a.k.a Kolai in Tamil) is gearing up for a release shortly, the promotional campaign for his other film Ratham has also kickstarted today. The film, directed by CS Amudhan and produced by Kamal Bohra, G Dhananjayan, B Pradeep and Pankaj Bohra of Infiniti Film Ventures, has been titled Doshi in Telugu. The intense first look of the crime drama was launched today, commemorating Vijay Antony's birthday.
Vijay Antony, offering an intense expression, is in a bearded avatar while holding a stick. It's a dark room where the only light source is the sunshine coming through the windows. Incidentally, crime dramas and thrillers have been Vijay Antony's strength areas throughout his career - Naan, Saleem, Kolaigaran, to name a few and he has always displayed great scripting sense. Regardless of commercial success or failure, most Vijay Antony films have enjoyed good shelf life.
Director CS Amudhan shares Doshi is a crime drama revolving around an unusual crime that has never occurred in the history of mankind. Mahima Nambiar, Nandita Swetha and Ramya Nambeesan play the female leads in the film. The supporting cast comprises stand-up comedian Jagan, Nizhalgal Ravi, John Mahendran, Kalai rani, Mahesh (Family man), OAK Sundar, Meesha Goshal, and Ameya. Tamizh Padam fame Kannan is the composer.
Gopi Amarnath cranks the camera for the crime drama while Suresh is the editor. Doshi is a world far removed from the Tamizh Padam series, opine CS Amudhan and team. For the uninitiated, Tamizh Padam is a famous franchise of spoof-based films. Doshi promises a hard-hitting crime drama, that's currently undergoing post-production formalities stage. The makers will announce the updates surrounding the film’s music, release date and trailer shortly.
