Actor-music composer Vijay Antony's wife Fathima wrote a heartwrenching note about remembering her daughter Meera. She expressed her pain and regret in a form similar to poetry. "If I’d known u will live only for 16 yrs, I would have just kept u very very close to me,not even shown you to the sun and moon,am drowning and dying with ur thoughts, can’t live without you ,come back to babba and amma.laara keeps waiting for u,love u Thangam⁦ @vijayantony," she wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

This is the first time Fathima has spoken about the passing of her daughter Meera.

Last month, Meera, who was just 16 years old, committed suicide at her residence in Chennai. The incident has sent a shock wave across the country. She did not leave behind a note explaining the reasons that pushed her to take this extreme step. However, media reports suggested that she was under a lot of pressure in connection with her academic pursuits. And it was believed it could be the reason behind Meera's death.

Meera's death reignited discussions about the pressure faced by students and the need for a better process to make the school system more accommodating and forgiving.

Earlier, Vijay Antony had issued a statement reacting to the untimely death of his daughter.

"To all the lovely people, my daughter Meera was very affectionate and courageous. Now she is in a better place devoid of caste, religious discrimination, money, envy, pain, and malice. She continues to talk to me. I also died with her. I have started spending time with her. From now on, she will initiate all the good things that I will undertake," said Antony.
