The Waves Summit 2025 is seeing the who's who of the Indian film industry in one place. Some of the biggest stars, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Mohanlal, Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, and several others, graced the event on day one. Well, it was time for the Pelli Choopulu star Vijay Deverakonda to attend the event, and he spoke about Indian cinema at large, with none other than Karan Johar and Kareena Kapoor as co-guests on the panel.
When asked about Indian cinema's future, Vijay said, "Times have changed as the Indian audience is now celebrating South cinema more. Things will go to the next level if the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Allu Arjun could do a film together. What a sight it would make, and the global reception the film will get."
Vijay also added that Indian cinema is spreading its wings in a big way, and with the north and south divide gone, there is a lot of talent coming out of Indian cinema.
The same is going to happen next as Jr NTR is all set to make his Hindi debut with the Hrithik Roshan film War 2, which releases on August 14, 2025. The Temper star, Jr NTR, will be seen in the role of an army officer in this film, and Karan Johar says he is super excited to see both Hrithik and NTR on one screen.
Vijay also added that he would love for a film of his to be referred to as world cinema in the days to come. On the other hand, Vijay is gearing up for the release of his new film, Kingdom, which is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.
