Vijay Raghavendra in cop mode again; collaborates with maker of Seetharam Benoy and Case of Kondana

Vijay Raghavendra’s milestone 50th film was Seetharam Benoy Case No: 18, a film and character that he said had the potential to be turned into a franchise. Well, looks like he and the makers took that idea seriously, as they have collaborated yet again and made a sequel, Second Case of Seetharam, which is currently in post-production and will likely be in theatres shortly.
Directed by Deviprasad Shetty, Second Case of Seetharam is the third collaboration between the filmmaker and actor, after their more recent Case of Kondana. Vijay Raghavendra is joined by Gopalkrishna Deshpande and Usha Bhandary in the film as main characters. “The tentative plan is to have the film in theatres by the end of November. But for a couple of films in mid-November, no other Kannada film has officially been announced yet in the weeks before The Devil. We will take a final call shortly,” says Deviprasad.

The filmmaker adds that the film takes off where the original ended, and is set in the same village that Inspector Seetharam is posted to, with Gopalkrishna Deshpande the antagonist in this tale. Second Case of Seetharam is Vijay Raghavendra’s latest in cop mode, after films like FIR 6 to 6, Jog Falls, Oo Manase, Happy New Year besides, of course, Seetharam Benoy and Case of Kondana.
Meanwhile, Vijay Raghavendra’s most recent release, Rippan Swamy, in which he had reunited with Malgudi Days maker Kishore Moodbidri, has made it to OTT. The actor had a change of image with Rippan Swamy, which has been described as one of his most violent films to date.
