Vijay Raghavendra’s Second Case of Seetharam postponed to early 2026

Vijay Raghavendra’s sequel to his film Seetharam Benoy: Case No 18, Second Case of Seetharam was one of the earliest to announce November 28 as its release date. However, thereafter, there was radio silence from the team and when the film failed to make it to theatres on the announced date, OTTplay reached out to the team.

Here's why Second Case of Seetharam was postponed

Turns out, shortly after announcing the release date, director-producer Deviprasad Shetty took the call to hold on and not go ahead with this plan, as newer business prospects opened up for the film, which he was keen to explore. “November 28 was initially decided as it would be 2 weeks before Darshan sir’s The Devil arrives. But with that out of the window, there was no chance for a December release. January is also chock-a-block with biggies, including Jana Nayagan, Raaja Saab and Parashakti, among others, while from Kannada there’s Sanchith Sanjeev’s Mango Pachcha and then, Duniya Vijay’s Landlord, which also stars Rachita Ram and Raj B Shetty. We will zero in on a date thereafter and an official announcement will be made shortly,” he said.

Second Case of Seetharam is Vijay’s third collaboration with Deviprasad, with their last being Case of Kondana. This film takes off after the events of the first Seetharam movie. Gopalkrishna Deshpande is the antagonist in the film, while Usha Bhandary, who is seen in the comedy heist drama Bank of Bhagyalakshmi that is currently in theatres, is also a part of it.
