Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s 19(1)(a) will have a direct OTT release; know where to watch

Vijay Sethupathi, who is a fan-favourite Tamil star today, has a large fanbase in the state of Kerala as well. The actor will be seen soon in 19(1)(a), which will be just his second Malayalam movie. Also starring Nithya Menen in the lead, the movie’s makers have now confirmed that it will be released directly on Disney+ Hotstar. 

“" 19(1)(a) " Coming Soon ! On #DisneyPlusHotstarMultiple,” Nithya Menen wrote in an Instagram post, which was accompanied by a motion poster for the movie. The poster features Vijay Sethupathi, sporting a greaying beard and Nithya Menen holding a bag. The poster also has a mellow score playing in the background. 

The movie’s makers had released its first look poster last month, to the excitement of the fans. The project marks Vijay Sethupathi’s second Malayalam movie, after having made an appearance in Jayaram’s Marconi Mathai back in 2019. 

“Sethupathi plays a writer who is born in Tamil Nadu and lives in Kerala. So such a character has a unique sensibility in how he sees and deals with things. While working with him, I found that’s an inherent trait of Sethupathi. So, for him it wasn’t that difficult a task to essay the role,” director Indhu V.S., previously revealed in an interview with Kochi Times.. 

Written and directed by Indhu, the movie also features Indrajith Sukumaran and Indrans in important roles. Govind Vasantha, who caught the attention of the nations with his work in Vijay Sethupathi led 96, is composing the movie’s music.

Backed by Anto Joseph Film Company, the makers are yet to confirm a release date for the movie,
