Vijay Sethupathi is presently enjoying the feedback on his recently released movie, Maharaja. The actor, who predominantly works in Tamil films, made his debut in the Hindi entertainment industry with the OTT series Farzi. Later, he worked alongside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in filmmaker Atlee's 2023 film Jawan. In a recent interview, Vijay heaped praise on his Jawan co-star SRK and called him a 'great storyteller'.

In an interview with Cinema Vikatan, Vijay Sethupathi said he was surprised to hear Shah Rukh Khan's voice. Calling him a 'great storyteller', the Maharaja actor added, "His mind is very versatile. I told him in an interview that he is more attractive as a person than a star."
Earlier, while speaking with Hindustan Times, Vijay revealed one thing he learned from his Jawan co-star Shah Rukh Khan. The actor mentioned that SRK's energy levels never go down. Recalling their shoot for Jawan, Sethupathi says that one day Shah Rukh Khan was unwell but it's difficult for one to figure it out until he informs them of the same.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vijay Sethupathi has had two theatrical releases this year. The actor starred in filmmaker Sriram Raghavan's Merry Christmas, which was theatrically released on January 12, 2024. Vijay shared screen space with Katrina Kaif in the film, which was simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil.
Cut to now: Sethupathi's new project, Maharaja, was released in theatres on June 14. Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, the action-thiller film clashed with Chandu Champion and Inside Out 2 at the box office. Collectively produced by Passion Studios, The Route, and Think Studio, Maharaja also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, Natarajan Subramaniam, and others. The film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 20 crore.
