Director Prasanth Varma has been reinventing himself with every opportunity and his three Telugu films - Awe, Kalki and Zombie Reddy - serve as a testimony to his credentials as a terrific storyteller. He's next working on a superhero film, Hanu Man, a modern-day reimagination of Hanuman's story in Ramayana, where Teja Sajja is cast in the title role as Hanumanthu. Produced by Niranjan Reddy under Primeshow Entertainment, the makers claim Hanu Man is the first pan-Indian superhero film. Actor Vijay Sethupathi has announced the film's female lead, Amritha Aiyer, in social media today.

"Happy to share the Poster of @Actor_Amritha as #Meenakshi from the world of Anjanadri 馃彅. #HanuMan The First Pan-Indian SuperHero Film. A @PrasanthVarma Film. @tejasajja123 @Niran_Reddy @Primeshowtweets @Chaitanyaniran #HanuManTheOrigin," Vijay Sethupathi posted on social media, while sharing Amritha Aiyer's poster from the film across multiple languages. The actress, dressed in a blue and white chudidaar, is seated in a boat amidst a surreal hilly backdrop, with several baskets full of flowers placed behind her.

Amritha Aiyer has already acted in a couple of Telugu films - Red, 30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela and will also be seen in Sree Vishnu's Arjuna Phalguna. Hanu Man is slated to release in 2022 across five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The film's shoot commenced a few months earlier and is currently being shot at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Hanu Man is expected to have top-class stunt sequences and is being made on a grand canvas. Teja Sajja and Prasanth Varma had earlier collaborated for Zombie Reddy and Adbhutham (for which Prasanth wrote the story).
