Actor Vijay Sethupathi, whose Maharaja has been getting tremendous response, recently opened up about his upcoming film Viduthalai- Part 2. He said that his role as Vaathiyar will have more screen space. To know what the actor said about his role and the film, read on further.

Vijay Sethupathi's role as Vaathiyar was limited in the 2023 film. Directed by Vetrimaaran, Viduthalai is a two-part film that features Soori in the lead role. The first part showed glimpses of Vijay Sethupathi's character. It is to be noted that Viduthalai - Part 2 is expected to be much bigger and made on a larger scale. In line with this, new cast members of the film will also be introduced in the sequel. Recently, Soori said that Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani and Kishore would be featured in the second part.

Actor Manju Warrier will be playing the role of Vijay Sethupathi’s love interest. In a recent interview, Vijay Sethupathi opened up about the paring and how the director has created a beautiful love story between his and Manju Warrier's characters. The latter's role will be introduced in the second part. Vijay Sethupathi further said that he had requested Vetrimaaran not edit the love track in the final version. It will mark the first time Manju and Vijay will be working together.

A release date for the film is yet to be announced. Directed by Vetrimaaran, Soori plays the role of Kumaresan, a newly-recruited cop put in charge of capturing a revolutionary leader played by Vijay Sethupathi. The first part of the film can be streamed on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. It opened to a positive reception and has music by Ilaiyaaraja.

Both parts were screened at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam earlier this year and received a standing ovation. Actors Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon, Chetan and others are also part of the cast.
