The shoot for director Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai is happening at a brisk pace. Now, actor Vijay Sethupathi, who plays an interesting character and is fondly referred to as Vaathiyar in the film, has shared some working stills from the sets. The pictures give a glimpse of what one can expect from the film. Soon after Vijay Sethupathi shared the pictures, fans have been commenting on it and sharing their feedback about the same.

Viduthalai has Soori in the lead, who will be playing a police constable. The supporting cast includes Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Rajiv Menon and Kishore. The team of Viduthalai is shooting with bare minimum facilities in the forests of Sathyamangalam, Sirumalai and Kodaikanal. While the cinematography is by Velraj, Ramar is in charge of the editing. Peter Hein has choreographed the action scenes and Jacki is taking care of the art direction. This is the first time that maestro Ilaiyaraaja is scoring the music for a Vetri Maaran film.


The plot of Viduthalai is based on a novel penned by writer Jeyamohan and is touted to be a crime thriller. Expectations are high from the film, which is said to be releases in two parts. The shoot for the first part is said to be complete and the second part is being canned at a brisk pace. We hear that Vetri Maaran had been considering making this film for a long time now.  

"The climax is an elaborate sequence and it was a challenging experience. It was the producer's confidence in us that we took the plunge into the film, "Vetri Maaran told a Tamil portal. Viduthalai is bankrolled by Eldred Kumar’s RS Infotainment. After wrapping up thw work on Viduthalai, Vetri Maaran will begin shooting Vaadi Vaasal, with Suriya in the lead. The plot is based on the traditional bull-taming sport in Tamil Nadu, Jallikattu.
