Popular Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is reuniting with ace director Mani Ratnam on a project, which will have actress Sai Pallavi in the lead. The dream collaboration was revealed by Vijay Sethupathi in a recent interview with Variety India, where he also promised he would never do a remake or sequel, equating repetition to death.

Vijay Sethupathy, who was recently seen in the silent film Gandhi Talks, has confirmed that he will be collaborating with Mani Ratnam. This marks the second collaboration between the actor-director after the movie Chekka Chivantha Vaanam in 2018. Vijay told Variety India, “I’ve worked with Mani Sir before. This time we will be doing something completely different.”
The actor, who has done diverse roles in Super Deluxe and Vikram, went on to say that he cannot be repetitive. “Repetition is death for me. I will never do a sequel or a remake,” he added.
Reports about Vijay Sethupathi-Mani Ratnam collaborations have been doing the rounds lately, now the actor himself has given the confirmation. Sai Pallavi will play the female lead, marking the first collaboration between the Amaran actress and the actor.
Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is a crime drama film, which also features Arvind Swamy, Silambarasan, and Arun Vijay. The new Mani Ratnam-Vijay Sethupathy project is yet to be officially announced, and more details about the cast and crew will be revealed then.
