Darlings fame actor Vijay Varma has some interesting roles in his filmography, in films such as Gully Boy and Pink. But in a recent interview, he revealed that he auditioned for Kai Po Che for the part that Sushant Singh Rajput eventually bagged. Not just this, Vijay said he missed out on other big-ticket projects as well, like Farhan Akhtar’s part in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
In an interview with E-Times, Vijay recently said, “I was in the running for Kai Po Che, but that part eventually went to Sushant Singh Rajput.” Vijay added that he had also auditioned for the role of Milkha Singh in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag as well, for which Farhan Akhtar received a lot of praise. While the actor agreed that it did hurt to lose out on those parts, he agrees that the actors who played the roles fit the parts the best and that they were the right choices.
Vijay also recognises that all this is part and parcel of being an actor. And, in fact, he has had other actors come up to him many times, telling him that Vijay bagged the role that they wanted to play. To this he always says, “Yeah, I've been on the other side, bro,”
Vijay Varma was last seen in Netflix’s Darlings alongside Alia Bhatt. The film also features Shefali Shah. Vijay will be seen next in Sujoy Ghosh’s Hindi adaptation of The Devotion Of Suspect X, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat. Vijay made his acting debut with Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's short film Shor.
