The recently released Vikram Vedha, starring Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan, is receiving positive reviews from critics and audience alike. The stylish action sequences and dialogues, especially in the climax scene in particular, have become a talking point for fans.

In an intimate conversation with the members of the media in Mumbai, actor Saif Ali Khan, and the director duo of the film Pushkar and Gayatri decoded the slow-motion sequences.

Explaining the thought behind shooting in slow motion, Pushkar said, "Usually in films earlier, we tend to paint one character great and likable and the rest of them are negative. One really does not need to play a lot of cinematic tricks to do so, it was fairly simple! Here, we are trying to do something different. Here we tried to make Vikram and Vedha equally likable."

He went on adding, "When I am using the word likable, what I mean is, we wanted the audience to invest emotionally for both the characters, I wanted them to have the interest of knowing what both of them are doing next. One of the ways to do that is, by giving larger-than-life values to both characters, so in the end, the audience reacts as 'what a police officer' and 'what a gangster!' By the time they reach the climax, they are totally transported!!"

Adding to that, Gayatri said, "Look it is also true that the script is fairly complicated and we wanted more audiences to get access to the story. By creating such larger-than-life moments, we were taking the audience into the world of Vikram and Vedha. We loved that slow-mo watching on the big-screen."

Saif believes that it is the power of cinema that can offer such a visual treat on-screen to the audience and make cinema a very special experience, something different from web shows.

"It is the style and magic moments that we watch on a big screen that as an audience make us engage. Cinema is an art form and one can do various things with it. With the right kind of Background music and a certain style of storytelling, we can create electrifying emotion among the audience. That is the power of cinema. That is why cinema will survive, people will go to the theatre to experience larger than life stories."

"A person who is technically capable will use any such gimmick and artistic tricks to engage with the audience," he added.

Vikram Vedha, which also features Rohit Saraf, Radhika Apte, Sharib Hashmi and Satyadeep Mishra among others, released in theatres on September 30.
