SU Arun Kumar's Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, starring Vikram, was all set to make a grand release in theatres on the morning of March 27, 2025. However, the film faced some legal hurdles, and the premiere shows of Chiyaan Vikram's film were cancelled. But in the latest update, the issues have been reportedly resolved, and Veera Dheera Sooran has finally been released in theaters.
Veera Dheera Sooran, one of the most-awaited Tamil films, ran into some legal hurdles, which stalled its big release in theatres on Thursday morning. But now Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran has started playing in theatres for the evening shows on Thursday. SU Arun Kumar's directorial Dheera Sooran is produced under the banner of HR Pictures.
Chiyaan Vikram fans were in for a shock on Thursday morning, when reports stated that the first shows of the movie have been cancelled across regions. Production company B4U filed a case in court for announcing the movie release before the OTT deal was struck, that led to the screening being stalled, as per media reports. There were even reports that the movie has been slapped with a four-week ban.
However, the issues appear to have been resolved now as the makers announced by evening that the movie has been cleared for screening. The evening shows of the Vikram-starrer have begun. Fans have also shared videos from the theatres on social media.
The Vikram-starrer also features SJ Suryah, Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Dushara Vijayan, among others. This marks the Tamil acting debut of Suraj Venjaramoodu.
The cinematography is handled by Theni Easwar, and editing is by GK Prasanna. G.V. Prakash Kumar is the music director.
The other big release from South cinema on March 27 is Empuraan, starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Suraj Venjaramoodu is also a part of Empuraan, which boasts a stellar cast of Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Andrea Tivadar, Jerome Flynn, and Indrajith Sukumaran.
