Team Vikrant Rona is currently busy with the final phase of promotions, with only days left for the grand worldwide release. In this vein, Kiccha Sudeep, Anup Bhandari, and others flew down to the Bollywood city of Mumbai to spread the word about the Hindi release and were joined by some of their colleagues from the Hindi film industry at the glittery media event. In attendance were actors Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D'Souza, and Salman Khan - all being Sudeep's close aids and friends - along with Gadang Rakkamma herself, Jacqueline Fernandez.

Salman Khan, who is also distributing the film in North India along with PVR Pictures, shared his thoughts on Vikrant Rona, the film, and how Salman Khan Films came to forge an association with the makers of the pan-Indian film. When asked whether he came on board because Sudeep is a close friend, Salman Khan was quick to quash the speculations and stated that he believed in the merit of Vikrant Rona which is the only reason he needed to be part of the mega project.

“It isn’t that I only work with friends and family: I will be able to lend my support only if they can help me too with an outstanding product. Also, it might seem like I am supporting them here but [in reality], they are the ones supporting me with great film,” said Salman Khan at the press event. In the same breath, he added that Vikrant Rona is in the ‘right zone’ as far as the grandeur and scale are concerned, especially when many filmmakers tend to get it wrong with big budget spectacles.

"Vikrant Rona is also a child-friendly film - there is an endearing angle involving kids which will be a highlight. I had the chance of watching the film a couple of days ago, have consistently seen the rushes, and it's looking great. I will be watching it again on the big screen for the complete experience - I must say that they have done a great job," added Salman Khan.

Kiccha Sudeep and Salman Khan’s connection goes back a long time, right to the days of Huchcha and Tere Naam when they played the same role in the Kannada and Hindi versions. The Celebrity Cricket League was another opportunity for the two bigwigs to come together which eventually led to Sudeep being cast as the baddie in Dabangg 3. When Salman Khan termed Sudeep ‘competitive’, referring to the latter’s winning spirit during the cricket tournament, the Vikrant Rona star was quick to quip: “We beat him in CCL, he took me in Dabangg [3] and beat the hell out of me”.
