The movie will open in theatres on November 21. Eko, starring Sandeep Pradeep and directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, would have its big-screen debut on the same day.

The beginning of the trailer introduces Double Mohanan's strategy for smuggling sandalwood in Marayoor, showcasing his unwavering determination and how little the authorities intimidate or impact him. He may be seen showing off his nicknames, Double Mohanan, Sandalwood Mohanan, and Chinna Veerappan, among the villagers. His power struggle with Bhaskaran Master is soon depicted in several action-packed moments.

Vilayath Buddha stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, with Shammi Thilakan and Priyamvada Krishnan playing supporting parts. The movie also features Anu Mohan, Dhruvan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Teejay Arunasalam and Kottayam Ramesh. The same-titled novel by GR Indugopan served as the inspiration for Jayan Nambiar's action thriller. The music for the movie was composed by Jakes Bejoy. Cinematographer Arvind Kashyap is another prominent member of Vilayath Buddha's crew.

The main characters of the movie are Bhaskaran Master and Double Mohanan, a smuggler who is his protégé. They are at odds over who owns a sandalwood tree that the former planted in Marayoor.
