The trailer for the upcoming highly-anticipated Malayalam movie, Vilayath Buddha, was released today (November 14), precisely one week before it opens in theatres. A glimpse of Double Mohanan, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran, and his adversary, Bhaskaran Master, portrayed by Shammi Thilakan, can be seen in the trailer.

As anticipated by the actor's fans, the two-minute, 28-second video gives a comprehensive look of Double Mohanan's involvement in sandalwood smuggling, which has made him influential in the area and on the authorities' wanted list. Double Mohanan's method of smuggling sandalwood in Marayoor is introduced at the start of the video, demonstrating his tenacity and how little the authorities affect or scare him. Among the locals, he can be seen flaunting off his nicknames, Double Mohanan, Sandalwood Mohanan, and Chinna Veerappan.
Priyamvada Krishnan's character Champakam, his love interest, is depicted as being proud with his actions and reputation in the region, supporting him. His power struggle with his former mentor, Bhaskaran Master, is soon shown in a number of intense scenes.
Vilayath Buddha based on a Malayalam novel
The action thriller, directed by Jayan Nambiar, is based on the same-titled novel by GR Indugopan. It was recently confirmed that Vilayath Buddha will release in theatres on November 21, along with Sandeep Pradeep-starrer Eko. Indugopan and Rajesh Pinnadan co-wrote the screenplay.
