Vineeth Kumar’s new film starring Tovino Thomas titled Dear Friend; first look poster and release date unveiled

Tovino Thomas certainly has a lot on his plate these days. After his gripping performance in Naradan, the Minnal Murali star will next be seen in Vineeth Kumar’s next directorial venture. The film has unveiled its title recently, along with its first look poster and release date.

Tovino took to his official social media handles to make the announcement and unveil the first look poster. The film is titled Dear Friend and features the film’s cast Darshana Rajendran, Basil Joseph, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Sanchana Natarajan and Arjun Lal, along with Tovino. The group are seen all smiles and are seen posing for a selfie together. Part of Tovino’s caption on the post reads, “Befriend our 'dear friend'!!”

Vineeth has also shared the poster on his Instagram with the caption, “Here is the first look poster of my second directorial venture … a journey which had a lot of learning , hardwork , fun and an amazing experience. Need all your love, support and blessing”.

The actor-turned-filmmaker’s directorial debut came in the form of the 2015 film, Ayal Njanalla, which starred Fahadh Faasil, Mrudula Murali, Divya Pillai and Akshat Singh. Ayal Njanalla is available for streaming on Jio Cinema.

Dear Friend is written by Sharfu and Suhas along with Arjun Lal, with the latter also starring in the film. Shyju Khalid, Sameer Thahir and Ashiq Usman have produced the film, which has music by Justin Varghese. And, Deepu Joseph has edited the film.

The film Dear Friend will be released in theatres on June 10, 2022.

Meanwhile, Tovino was last seen in the Aashiq Abu directorial Naradan, which can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video now. Other than Dear Friend, the star’s upcoming films include legal drama Vaashi and the comedy entertainer Thallumaala. In Vaashi,directed by Vishnu G Raghav, he will share the screen with Keerthy Suresh. On the other hand, Thallumaala, which is directed by Khalid Rahman stars Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead.
