Vinil Mathew on 8 years of Hasee Toh Phasee: I am so glad that the audience is still showering so much love

Hasee Toh Phasee clocks 8 years today. The 2014 comedy-drama film stars Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra in lead roles. The Vinil Mathew directorial, which is available to streamed on Netflix, is one of the most unconventional yet relatable love stories that has earned cult status over the years.  

Vinil's debut project was an experimental one, which opened to rave reviews for its refreshing take on love tales. 

Talking about the film, the filmmaker said in a recent statement that Hasee Toh Phasee is very close to the director's heart and not only because it was his debut venture but also because it gave the movie maker a lot to explore while making. He further added, "I am so glad that the audience is still showering it with so much love."

Speaking about the main lead, Vinil revealed that acting Sidharth and taking him out of his heroic image was a risk that he wanted to take to present him as a non-hero in front of the world. "Similarly, Parineeti Chopra portrayed a new shade of a lead female character," added the director.

Meanwhile, to rejuvenate and cherish the day, Parineeti took a special video to Instagram. The clip shows the actress recording the romantic song from the film titled Zehnaseeb in her own voice. The Golmaal Again actress mentioned Siddharth, Karan Johar and Vinil in the caption to wish them '8 years of Hasee Toh Phasee'
