Vir Das: Fool Volume OTT release date - Here's when and where you can stream new stand-up special

Returning to Netflix with his latest stand-up special Vir Das: Fool Volume is none other than Vir Das, one of India's most known global comic talents. On July 18, 2025, his fifth special will debut on Netflix, making him the most prolific Indian comic in terms of specials on the service.

Trailblazer in Indian stand-up comedy

In India and around the world, Das has been at the forefront of stand-up comedy, always challenging conventions with his trademark blend of satire, social critique, and personal stories. For his prior special, Landing, he became the first Indian comedian to win the prestigious International Emmy® Award.

But Fool Volume is unique not only because of the story that inspired it but also because of the hilarity that it contains. Das said in a statement that Netflix and he were planning to film a special with a new subject, explaining how the special came to be. He also shared that the universe had other plans, as his voice went out two months before the show.

Rewriting in silence

Das shared, "This is a show rewritten in silence and performed without rehearsal across the world. Turns out the voice in your head is way crazier than the one in your throat. A special that asks the important question: How much happiness do you share when it comes back? What does it mean for any of us to really use our voice?"

What fans can expect from Das' next special is more of his trademark smart humour, which veers between the absurd and the contemplative. Fool Volume will feature him "turning the volume all the way up" as he deftly manoeuvres through the world of global follies, utilising his trademark blend of "wit, wisdom, and total nonsense", as described by Netflix.

One more thing about this platform: it says, "In a world that takes itself too seriously, maybe being the fool is the smartest move."

Journey of global comedy milestones

The 2017 Netflix original Abroad Understanding was Vir Das's first mainstream offering. Losing It, For India, Landing, and now Fool Volume are the subsequent specials he has released. Among the few Indian comedians who consistently maintain a global presence, his specials have helped him establish an ever-expanding fan base around the world.

On July 18, Vir Das: Fool Volume will make its global premiere on Netflix.
