Ever since Ravi Teja’s Ramarao On Duty moved out of its June 17 release slot, the spot was up for grabs and it was quite surprising to see that no big film jumped at the opportunity. Finally, team Virata Parvam bit the bullet and took the call to advance their theatrical release from July 1 to June 17. The Venu Udugula-directed film has been in the making since 2019.

Amid a flurry of release delays for Virata Parvam in the last few months, this release date advancement news must come as a relief for many Rana fans. The film is about a tale set in the 90s revolving around a love story amidst the backdrop of the naxal movement in the Telangana region. Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi are cast as Comrade Ravanna and Vennela respectively.

At a point of time, Virata Parvam was very close to being a direct-to-OTT release, but the makers renegotiated their deal at the right time to clear any possible roadblocks for the theatrical option. Rana has consistently maintained that Virata Parvam is one of his pet projects and has gone out of his way in his efforts to enhance the impact of the result.

Virata Parvam is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and presented by Suresh Babu under Sree Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas and Suresh Productions. Dani Sanchez Lopez and Divakar Mani are the cinematographers while Suresh Bobbili scores the music. Priyamani, Nanditha Das, Naveen Chandra, Zareena Wahab, Eswari Rao and Sai Chand too play important roles.
