As promised, the makers of Virata Parvam released the highly awaited film’s trailer today. The trailer offers viewers a glimpse into a tumultuous tale of love and rebellion, starring Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi.

The trailer, just over three minutes long, shows a love story set against the backdrop of the Naxalite movement in 1990s Telangana. Vennela is a young woman who dreams of finding love, smitten with the words of an author from the book she is reading. The Naxalite movement is raging on in the region, and Vennela finds herself falling in love with Ravanna, a naxal. As the trailer progresses, viewers see her taking up arms as well, her tumultuous love story with Ravanna under the threat of the raging war.

Sharing the trailer on her official social media handle, Sai Pallavi wrote “The biggest moments in history have originated from simple incidents. The key lies in the purity of emotion. This is one such story of honesty, love and adventure.”

In addition to Rana and Sai Pallavi, the film also features Priyamani, Nanditha Das, Naveen Chandra, Sai Chand, Benarji, Nagineedu, Zareena Wahab, Eswari Rao, Rahul Ramakrishna, Devi Prasad, Anand Ravi and Anand Chakrapani in pivotal roles. Venu Udugula has written and directed the film.

The film was bankrolled by Sudhakar Cherukuri and presented by Suresh Babu under Sree Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas and Suresh Productions. The film’s soundtrack was composed by Suresh Bobbili. Dani Sanchez Lopez and Divakar Mani have cranked the camera for the film, which has been edited by Sreekar Prasad.

Virata Parvam will be released in theatres on June 17. After its theatrical run, the film is expected to stream on Netflix.
