The makers of Viruman released the first single promo video, recently. Titled Kanja Poovu Kannala, the one-minute promo video takes us through the characters of Karthi and Aditi Shankar in the film. The Kanja Poovu Kannala promo has garnered over 2.4 million views in a day and is still counting.
Even though the song's visuals reminded us of the actor's previous venture, Komban, Yuvan Shankar's tune makes it sound enjoyable. While Karumathur Manimaran has penned the lyrics, the melodious number is sung by Sid Sriram.
Directed by M Muthaiya, Viruman is a rural-based mass entertainer set in Theni and Madurai. The film marks the director's second-time collaboration with Karthi after Komban.
Viruman also has director Shankar's daughter Aditi making her acting debut. The film has Rajkiran, Prakash Raj, RK Suresh, Manoj, and Soori in prominent roles.
Viruman is produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment and has cinematography by Selvakumar SK of Maanagaram fame. The post-production work of Viruman is progressing steadily, and the film is expected to hit the big screens in July.
Sources say the film will also be dealing with father and son emotions. Prakash Raj will portray Karthi's father and it will be interesting to witness their camaraderie as father-son.
According to a report published by the Times of India, Aditi is named Thenmozhi in Viruman and will be playing a bold and caring Madurai girl. This rural drama talks about the importance of family and relationships.
Viruman will have shades of the director and actor's earlier film Komban, but it's going to be a more power-packed family drama this time!
Karthi's next film will be Sardar, directed by PS Mithran. He also recently wrapped up his portions for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan.
