Telugu cinema hasn’t had a great April with multiple films like Ravanasura, Meter, Shaakuntalam biting the dust at the box office. Virupaksha, Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha’s thriller hopes to break that dry spell at the ticket window. Meanwhile, a handful of small-budget films try to cast a spell on audiences on OTT and in theatres this weekend. Here’s all you need to know!

The mystical thriller revolves around Surya (Sai Dharam Tej), a native of Rudravaram, who falls for Nandini (Samyuktha). When a series of deaths shock the residents, a headman doesn’t permit anyone to enter or leave the village for eight days. Meanwhile, Surya is desperate to find answers. Directed by Karthik Dandu and also features Sai Chand, Ajay, Sunil and Brahmaji.

Hello Meera

Meera (Gargeyi Yellapragada) is set to enter wedlock with Kalyan and is finalising last-minute formalities for the big day. While she’s on her way back home, a cop from Hyderabad asks her to report to the station. Meera’s abusive ex-boyfriend Sudheer has attempted suicide while mentioning her name in his suicide note. Directed by Srinivasu Kakarla, the road thriller is a single-character film.

Two Souls

Directed by, the feel-good saga stars Trinath Varma and Bhavna Sagi in the lead. Ravi Teja Mahadasyam, Moumika Reddy play other key roles. The story revolves around journey of two individuals and their relationship. The dialogues of this film and the cinematography are believed to its strengths. Pratik Abhyankar, Anand Nambiar compose the music and Shashank Sriram is the cinematographer.

Kaliyuga Bhagavan

Krishna Bhagavan, the owner of a real estate firm, is crazy about money, so much so that he doesn’t care to spend time with his son on his birthday. While Nadh's son Rajesh falls ill due to the absence of his father, the story takes a different turn. Starring I Bramhananda Reddy, Satya Parkash, Shyam Dheeraj, Pavani, P Penta Rao, the film is written and directed by Dr. Korukonda Gopi Krishna.

Sindhooram

The story revolves around Ravi, a youngster in his 20s, who runs a coffee stall in a village in Khammam. Sirisha Reddy, sister to the village head Eeshwar Reddy, returns to her native as an MRO. Ravi and Sirisha, college mates earlier, rekindle their friendship. However, Ravi conceals his true identity from his lady love. Stars Dharma, Brigida Saga, Siva Balaji and directed by Shyam Thummalapalli.

Virgin Story

Vicky bumps into a girl Ruchi at a store and the two hit it off instantly. While he is head over heels in love with Ruchi, she friendzones him conveniently. Sahil is a spoilt brat who misuses his girlfriend Priyanshi's trust and cheats on her and. Their romance comes to a grinding halt when Priyanshi catches Sahil in the act. On a rebound, Vicky and Priyanshi try to indulge in a one-night stand. Stars Vikram Sahidev, Sowmika Pandiyan and directed by Pradip B Atluri.
