The star cast of Vishal's next, which is tentatively being referred to as Vishal 34, is getting bigger and bigger by the day. The latest to join the team are veteran directors and actors Gautham Vasudev Menon and Samuthirakani.
The new addition to Vishal 34
Vishal dropped a picture from the sets in which he and the film's director Hari, are posing with Gautham Menon and Samuthirakani. He captioned it, "Standing with three multi talented directors in one photo is a rarity and a must keep for ever. Welcome on board @menongautham bro and Kani anna in #Vishal34 directed by Hari sir. Gonna post this photo again next year and changing the no to four directors. Looking forward to that moment too, #Thupparivalan2 here I come asap (sic)."
Shoot for Vishal 3 underway
The shoot for the film is currently going on at a brisk pace in Karaikudi. The film’s announcement poster, which was released a long time ago, featured knives, daggers, handcuffs and guns, hinting at an action entertainer, just like Hari's earlier ventures. This is Vishal's third collaboration with the director after Thaamirabharani (2007) and Poojai (2014). The rest of the cast are yet to be announced. Music for the film is by Devi Sri Prasad. Vishal 34 is bankrolled by Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films and Zee Studios.
Thupparivalan 2 in the pipeline
Going by Vishal's latest post, it looks like he is all set to begin work on the long pending thriller. The film will mark his debut as a director. Though Mysskin, who had helmed Thupparivalan, was supposed to direct the sequel, too, he allegedly walked out of the film after the location recce, due to creative differences between him and Vishal. Vishal is set to reprise his character Kaniyan Poongundran, and Prasanna, who played his aide Manohar is also said to be part of the star cast.
