The unit of director Vinoth Kumar's explosive action entertainer, Laththi, featuring actors Vishal and Sunainaa in the lead, seems to have shot just the action sequences for a whopping 68 days! The film, bankrolled by actors Ramana and Nandha under their home banner, Rana Productions, has triggered quite a bit of interest in the kind of action sequences canned. Already, Vishal has been injured twice while shooting for Laththi.

A few months ago, the actor sustained multiple hairline fractures while shooting for some high-octane action sequences, which will appear towards the climax portions. Vishal had to undergo treatment for a few weeks at an ayurvedic centre in Kerala's Peringode before being able to shoot again. More recently, he sustained another injury to his leg.

In Tamil Nadu, there are over 1.2 lakh police constables. For most of them, the only weapon they have is the laththi. This film will speak about the significance of that weapon. Vishal has explored different genres and realised the action where his strength lies. Not many actors get to do as many action films and yet sustain audience interest, but Vishal has been consistent at it.

When asked how he balances his careers as an actor and a producer, Vishal candidly admitted that his Vishal Film Factory kept the actor in him afloat for the last 17 years. “Because I fund my own films, I have more freedom in selecting scripts.”

Ritu Verma will be pairing up with Vishal for the first time, which additionally stars Sunil Verma and Nizhalgal Ravi in prominent roles.
