Kannappa is all set for a massive release across the globe on June 27, 2025. Vishnu Manchu has put his heart and soul into the film and is busy promoting it everywhere. Just a day ahead of the release, news has emerged that GST officials from the state of Telangana have raided various offices owned by Vishnu Manchu in Hyderabad.
Vishnu Manchu runs several companies and has invested crores into Kannappa. A report suggests that the raids were conducted to verify whether Vishnu Manchu has been paying GST regularly in connection with his large-scale production. The raids reportedly continued for several hours across different offices and are expected to extend into the next day as well.
Speaking about the matter, Vishnu Manchu responded in an interview, stating, "I have nothing to hide, and everything is in the open. The law will do its duty, and I am not bothered, as everything is quite clean."
Some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Mohanlal, are making cameo appearances in Kannappa, and reports say they were paid hefty amounts. A lot of money has been spent on the making of the film, and much is riding on its success. Kannappa needs to perform well at the box office; otherwise, Vishnu Manchu could face massive losses.
However, the team is confident the film will hit the bull’s eye. Those who have seen the film have praised the second half, especially the entry of Prabhas. The Baahubali star reportedly has over 25 minutes of screentime and plays a crucial role.
Vishnu Manchu is yet to finalize the OTT rights for Kannappa and is playing the waiting game. He plans to make a decision on the digital rights deal after the film’s release. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa also features Kajal Aggarwal in a key role. Stay tuned for more updates on this much-anticipated project.a
