Vishwak Sen: I could’ve acted in three films if I didn’t direct Das Ka Dhamki

Vishwak Sen, who was last seen in the rom-com Ori Devuda, the Telugu remake of Oh My Kadavule and a special appearance as a lawyer in Mukhachitram, is back with another release. His next as an actor-director is Das Ka Dhamki, also produced by him. The pre-release event of the film was held in Hyderabad on Friday for which Jr NTR was the chief guest. Here’s what Vishwak said at the event.

“Jr NTR has come for the pre-release event for a fan, as a responsibility, even if he hasn’t got enough sleep after returning to India. I saw him as a man who stood up for his family recently; Oscars is something very small for a man of his stature. If someone asks me who’s the best actor in the country, I would name Jr NTR. When they were talking of coming up with a label for his AV in this event - I asked them to call it ‘Mass-amma mogudu’ (father of the masses),” he said.

When so many people tried to pull me down, God gave me someone like Jr NTR, Vishwak stated. “Das Ka Dhamki is an entertaining film and I am returning to direction five years after Falaknuma Das. I could’ve acted in three films in that time but I have no regrets. I have put all my money into this project. While you’ll enjoy the first hour with the humour, romance and the songs, you’ll return to your homes with a heavy heart after the second half.”

“There’s a surprise element in the film in the final two minutes. Das Ka Dhamki is not just a film; it’s Vishwak Sen 2.0,” he exuded optimism. The actor plays a double role as an industrialist and a waiter in the entertainer which also features Nivetha Pethuraj as the female lead. Rao Ramesh, Tharun Bhascker, Shaurya, Rati Hulji, Akshara Goud, Ajay, Aadi, Mahesh, Rohini, Prudhvi Raj, Kadambari Kiran, Rajini, Amith Sharma form the supporting cast.
