Vishwambhara is Chiranjeevi's new film that has been in the making for over a year now. The fantasy drama was supposed to hit the screens during Sankranthi 2025, but due to post-production works, the film was postponed and Ram Charan's Game Changer took the slot.
A small teaser which was released months ago did not go well with many, and the VFX work was criticized big time. This upset Chiranjeevi, who ordered a fresh take on the VFX. That is also the reason Vishwambhara is yet to lock its release date.
Now, the news is that the VFX work on the film is nearing its completion, and a juicy info about the film has come out. The new VFX has cost the makers a whopping Rs 75 crore extra. This is a massive amount, and two low-budget films with popular stars can be made with this money.
But Chiranjeevi was hell-bent on having a new VFX company work on the film after seeing the initial output. That is also one of the reasons the makers are demanding big bucks for the OTT deal of the film—so they can recover a massive portion of the budget.
This created more problems for the film, as the likes of Netflix and Amazon, who were the frontrunners to bag the digital rights, have backed down all of a sudden. All this has resulted in the delay of the film, hereby disappointing the mega fans in a big way.
But Chiranjeevi and his team are in no mood to get bogged down and have decided not to lock the release date of the film until the VFX is wrapped up properly. Trisha Krishnan plays the female lead in this film, and this is the second time that the Varsham and Nayaki star is romancing Chiranjeevi after their hit film Stalin.
Vassishta, the director who made the super hit film Bimbisara with Patas fame Kalyan Ram, is directing the film, and he says that the film is shaping up quite well and will impress one and all—even though it has been delayed.
