"Sir, this is not your fault. Your films are researched in the same way as your tweets on my conversations," Anurag Kashyap wrote to Vivek Agnihotri on Twitter.

Bollywood filmmakers Vivek Agnihotri and Anurag Kashyap are battling it out on Twitter over the former’s controversial film, The Kashmir Files. Kashyap, who is known for being vocal about his thoughts and opinions, said that Vivek needs to do some ‘serious research’ while commenting on his commercial success The Kashmir Files.
Vivek, then, hit back saying: 'Prove me wrong,’ and soon a full-blown war started between the two on Twitter.
It so happened that Anurag's latest comment on how South Indian films such as ‘Pushpa, KGF destroyed Bollywood' was not well-received by Vivek. Reacting to the same, The Kashmir Files director called Anurag a 'Bollywood Milord.'
Not the one to back down, Anurag Kashyap took to Twitter to react to Vivek Agnihotri’s reaction. He wrote:
"Sir aapki galti nahin hai, aap ki filmon ki research bhi aisi hi hoti hai jaise aapki mere conversations pe tweet hai. Aapka aur aapki media ka bhi same haal hai. Koi nahin next time thoda serious research kar lena (Sir, this is not your fault. Your films are researched in the same way as your tweets on my conversations. You and your media are in a similar state. No problem, next time do a little serious research) (sic)."
Vivek hit back, saying:
"Bholenath, aap lage haath sabit kar hi do ki #TheKashmirFiles ka 4 saal ka research sab jhooth tha. Girija Tikoo, BK Ganju, Airforce killing, Nadimarg sab jhooth tha. 700 Panditon ke video sab jhooth the. Hindu kabhi mare hi nahin. Aap prove kar do, DOBAARA aisi galti nahin hogi (Oh Bholenath, please go ahead and prove that The Kashmir Files' 4 years research was all a lie. Girija Tikoo, BK Ganju, Airforce killing, Nadimarg was all a lie. Videos of 700 Pandits was a lie. Hindus never died. You prove it and this mistake won't happen DOBAARAA (again) (sic)."
HOW DID IT ALL START?
Well, it all started with a recent interview given by Anurag Kashyap when he expressed his opinion that films such as 'Pushpa, Kantara and KGF destroyed Bollywood’. Vivek Agnihotri does not agree with Anurag’s pinion of these films and expressed his displeasdure over his comments rather sharply. At the time, Vivek had written on Twitter"I totally totally totally disagree with the views of Bollywood’s one & only Milord. Do you agree? (sic).”
At the year-ender roundtable hosted by YouTube channel Galatta Plus, Anurag Kashyap said, "With pan-India, what is happening right now is that everybody is trying to make a pan-India film. Success will be 5-10%. Films like Kantara and Pushpa give you the courage to go out and tell your stories. But KGF 2, however big the success, when you try and emulate that and set a project up, that’s when you start heading towards disaster. That’s the bandwagon that Bollywood destroyed itself on. You have to find films that give you courage.”
However, the Twitter row that ensued soon after between Anurag Kashyap and Vivek Agnihotri has left Twitter users divided. Which side are you on?
